Germany 1918-45: Weimar-Third Reich

This is the third examined unit of the GCSE History course. 

Unit of Work Overview

This Enquiry Study examines core content:

  • the reasons for and the impact of the development of totalitarianism in Germany;
  • the conditions in Weimar Germany and the reasons why many German people supported National Socialism;
  • the setting up and nature of Nazi government; and
  • the impact on and the reactions of different groups of people in Germany living in the Nazi state.

This Unit of Work will be investigated through the Autumn and Spring terms and will comprise of three Unit each of which comprising around 3 subunits (Topic Foci).

All will be driven by Enquiry questions and delivered through KUS Master Classes, CGL activities with authentic outcomes/products and Individually Assessed Skills tasks.

This Option will be assessed through a summative assessment of 1 hour 15 mins, comprising 5 questions:

Q5/Q6 a: Describe the key features/effects/how/why of… (9)

Unit 2: Government of the Third Reich to 1945

In this Unit you must collect notes and develop knowledge of the following:
